A double-layered hood holds its shape without a drawcord. Ribbed cuffs and hem give the boxy cut its structure. The branding stays minimal — small tonal front emblem, nothing across the back.

YARA is cut in a unisex oversized shape — designed to be roomy through the shoulders and chest, with a relaxed boxy body that sits at the high hip. Generous through the sleeves. Hood sits soft and structured. Built to be the jumper you (and everyone in your house) reach for.

A note on the unisex cut: this is a deliberately roomier silhouette than our women's pieces. If you usually wear ROCKY in M, you'll likely wear YARA in S for the same level of oversized — or your usual S for noticeably more volume.

A heavyweight 400gsm fleece built around two cottons doing complementary work.
Recycled cotton is the lower-impact half of the blend — spun from pre- and post-consumer cotton waste that would otherwise have gone to landfill. Less water. Less land. Less waste.
Certified-organic cotton is the longevity half — grown without synthetic pesticides or harmful chemicals, then ring-spun and carded for a soft, durable yarn that holds up wash after wash.
Together, they make a heavy jumper that wears in beautifully, fades softly, and gets better the longer you own it. The faded olive colourway is intentional — designed to look already-lived-in from day one and to keep getting more characterful with time.

A note on the long view: caring for organic + recycled cotton properly is what makes it last for years instead of seasons. Skip the dryer when you can, wash less than you think you need to, and your YARA will be better at five years old than the day it arrived.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES
• Easy 30-day returns from the date your order is delivered.
• Items must be unworn, unwashed and in original condition with tags attached.
• To start a return or exchange, email oldest@daughtercollective.com with your Order number.
• Refunds are processed back to your original payment method once your return is received and approved.
• Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty.
• Exchange shipping costs when shipping back out exchanges from studio, OD will send out complimentary* (first exchange only)
What does "Limited Episode" mean?
Each piece we release is part of a one-off capsule made in limited runs. Once a size sells out, that Episode doesn't come back in the same form. We do it this way to avoid overproduction and to make every drop feel intentional.
Why a recycled-organic blend instead of 100% organic?
Recycled cotton has a meaningfully lower environmental footprint than even certified-organic cotton — less water, less land, less new resource. Blending the two gives you the longevity and softness of organic with the lower impact of recycled. It's the better answer to "what's the most sustainable cotton jumper I could buy?"
Is YARA really unisex?
Yes — cut in a deliberately roomy boxy oversized silhouette designed to look intentional on any frame. The sizing runs XXS through 3XL with consistent oversized proportions across the range.
How does it compare to ROCKY and MAJA?
ROCKY is our mid-weight (300gsm) women's everyday jumper. MAJA is our heavyweight (320gsm) women's signature jumper. YARA is our heaviest (400gsm) unisex hooded jumper — the cocoon piece in the range. Each does a different job. We recommend at least one of each, eventually.
Will it shrink?
The fabric is pre-washed before construction, so minimal further shrinkage is expected. Following the care instructions — cold wash, line dry — protects both the fit and the fabric.
Where is it made?
Designed and printed in the Byron Bay Hinterland. Woven, dyed and assembled in Bangladesh in a Fair Wear certified factory with OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Vegan and Global Recycled Standard certifications.
When will pre-sale orders ship?
Pre-sale orders will be dispatched in late June 2026. You'll receive a tracking email the day your piece ships.
Can I exchange for a different size?
Yes. Return your original size within 30 days of delivery and we'll exchange for another size, subject to availability. Because Episodes are limited, sizes can sell out quickly — reach out before returning if you'd like us to hold your new size.
We named this label Oldest Daughter because the women who carry the most deserve clothes built to carry them back.
Every piece we make starts with a question: will this still be in your wardrobe in five years? We choose certified-organic and recycled fibres, partner with Fair Wear certified factories, blend longer-lasting fabrics, and release small Episodes so nothing goes to waste.
