LUNA is our extra-oversized boyfriend jersey, drawn long. Undyed white, cut wide and easy, with a black raglan stripe running shoulder to cuff and a black rib at the V-neck and wrists. Sport shape, nothing sporty about it.
The moon moves the entire ocean twice a day and still gets called gentle. It doesn't make its own light either. It takes what it's given and sends it back out across the water. Everybody knows the full one. Almost nobody looks at the other side.
Across the chest sits every mark we've used since 2012, printed in black. The first crest. The script. The flaming butterfly. The woman in profile. Thirteen years of a small label working out who it was. We haven't done this before and we won't again, because an archive only works once. The back is blank.

We make in small runs, once. Each episode gets a number and a name, and when it's gone it doesn't come back.
It isn't a marketing device. Making a small run means we can use better cotton, pay a Fair Wear member factory properly, and print here in the Hinterland rather than wherever is cheapest. It also means we don't write off what we didn't sell, which is the part of this industry nobody photographs.
LUNA is a one-off even by those standards. The archive print isn't something we'll repeat, because an archive only works once.

Measurements are point to point on the flat garment, in centimetres. They include a little extra length and width to allow for natural shrinkage, so LUNA stays comfortable after washing.
The easiest way to find your size: take a piece you already own and love the fit of, lay it flat, and compare it to the numbers above.
160gsm GOTS-certified organic combed cotton jersey, left undyed. Mid-light weight, so it carries from summer into layering season.
Combed cotton means the short fibres are removed before spinning. That's why it feels smoother than a standard jersey and pills less with wear.
Undyed means exactly that. No dye bath, no bleach, no optical brightener, so the white is softer and warmer than the white you're used to seeing in a shop. It also varies slightly between runs. If yours sits a shade warmer than the photographs, that's the fibre, not a fault. We'd rather tell you than pretend it doesn't happen.
Cold machine wash, inside out, with like colours.
Line dry in the shade. Undyed white holds its tone best away from heat and direct sun.
Warm iron on the reverse. Avoid the print.
No bleach, no tumble dry, no dry cleaning.
Washing cold and line drying is also the single biggest thing you can do to extend the life of the garment, which matters more than anything we did making it.

Is it true to size?
It's cut extra-oversized on purpose. Take your usual size for the slouch you see in the photographs, or size down one for a neater fit. If you own MIRA, FLO or ROJA, take the same size.
Will it be bright white?
No, and that's deliberate. Most white cotton is stripped with chemicals and then brightened with optical whiteners so it reads whiter than white under a shop light. LUNA skips both. It's the colour the cotton already was: softer, warmer, slightly variable.
What's on the back?
Nothing. The archive sits across the chest and the back is plain.
Is it unisex?
Yes. The block is cut unisex, XS to 2XL. If you usually wear men's sizing, size down one.
Will you make it again?
No. We don't reprint episodes, and LUNA especially. The archive print is a one-off.
How do I keep undyed white looking good?
Cold wash, inside out, line dry in the shade. Skip the bleach, which strips the fibre and yellows it over time. Treat marks as soon as you can rather than hot-washing later.
What does GOTS-certified mean?
It certifies the cotton: organic growing, and standards through processing covering chemical inputs, water and labour conditions. It's a named, audited scheme rather than a word we chose ourselves.
We started Oldest Daughter in 2012 because the women who carry the most deserve clothes built to carry them back. Thirteen years on, that's still the whole brief.
What that looks like in practice: GOTS-certified organic cotton rather than conventional. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tested fabric. A Fair Wear member factory. No polyester, which means no microplastics shed into the water every wash. Small runs, released once, so we're not making things that end up in landfill unworn.
None of that makes us perfect, and we're not going to tell you it does. The most sustainable garment is the one you already own and keep wearing. The second most is one made carefully, in small numbers, that you'll want to keep.
LUNA is undyed, which skips a whole dye and bleach process. That's one less step, one less input, one less thing to undo later.
